Can It All Be So Simple?

Can it though?

What’s up, Gang?

We’re back at it again this week and I’ve been feeling very nostalgic lately.

Maybe there’s something in the air or it’s because I’m just very anxiously awaiting the release of EA CFB 25, but I have been moving and shaking recently and when that happens sometimes you can’t help but look around and go, “Wait, what the hell?”

Specifically in regard to our beloved football program. Remember when we were #NotGood? I do. Those bad years, believe it or not, kind of defined my entire collegiate career and early journalism work.

Now, four years removed, I am in total awe of what is before us. I’ve had an idea for an article for a while, but I think I’ll just give some of it all to you all right now just to get it out. That’s what this is for right?

WITH PLAYER OF THE YEAR IN TOW AND OVER THE BOWL GAME SLUMP, KINNE LOOKS TO MAKE STATEMENT IN YEAR TWO

“Everyone’s a winner, Baby, that’s the truth (yes, the truth)”

Hot Chocolate’s “Every 1’s a Winner” blared into the Gerold Ford Stadium as fans rushed the field to celebrate with their Bobcats. For the first time in school history, they were bowl game champions.

Even with the brother of Christian McCafrey on the field, the other team didn’t matter. Anyone could have been on the other end of the bad score and this mayhem at the end would have been the result.

For a while, I hung back on the sidelines and all I could do was watch as one by one students, family and alumni jumped down to join the party that was literally forming in the endzone. (maybe not literally but you get me)

The energy was contagious.

(idk where this goes from here)

(sexy quote)

But last year very well could have been luck. Like my old middle school coach says “Once is luck, twice is skill.” Kinne and Co. are on a mission to prove just that in 2024.

It’s still hard for me to take that all in. I had previously only seen us win maybe three games ever in person. How the hell did this all happen? Minus maybe the transfer portal stuff and the JDL bump in the road, but if you think about it, I mean mostly lightning in a bottle, right?

It all gets my journalism bones turning. I’m a trained skeptic and I almost can’t believe it. The bigger question: Where do we go from here and what does that look like? Literally, what is the next part of that article? I guess the team/school and players/coaches are still writing it and so am I.
