Bobcats Are Back On Track

Big Day For The Big Dawg Brad Jackson

Saturday was a much needed experience, but for the team and the country.

Not that Texas State playing in the national spotlight is a key ingredient for political conversations happening across the country, but hey, I’ll always take a Bobcat win to round out the week.

After two back-to-back Sun Belt stinkers, it was good to see the team get back into that winning rhythm, albeit with an unexpected two-quarterback set with true freshman Brad Jackson leading the way on the ground.

Kinne has been high on Jackson since he stepped foot on campus. The San Antonio Reagan grad joined the team in the spring, opting to graduate early and join the program early.

On the day, Jackson was 4-of-9 with 16 in the air and ran the ball 17 times for 127 yards on the ground and would find the endzone twice.

Talk about a coming out party for a true freshman.

This morning (Monday) on the Sun Belt Conference Media Coach’s media availability call, Kinne bragged about how well Jackson had made the jump from highschool to college ball.

Throw in a Homecoming game environment in SWT throwback gear and we got a ball game shaping up against the struggling Southern Miss Golden Eagles.

To this point in the season the Golden eagles are sitting at 1-8 while the Bobcats sit at 5-4 on the cusp on bowl eligibility.

Oh, I forgot but if I say we’re supposed to win, suddenly Andrew says it’s my fault when we don’t. This team (Southern Miss) made a coaching change though at the end of October. The team for all intents and purposes is in a full-on tail spin.

This season has not been exactly what we have expected, but the team back at home for two straight hoping to win out and stay at the top of the SBC West is promising.
